Under the Sunset: RE-DO

Last week when I posted another shot of this with a pano crop, ( here ) several members suggested getting rid of the tree trunk on the left side, and Stan wanted to see more of the hills on top, but most people did not mind the FG leaves being out of focus. I tried a re-shoot the next day, and got all the leaves in focus, but the breeze was gone, so there were no ripples on the water. I didn’t like it without the sparkling water, so I just re-cropped one of the original shots and used the content-aware fill in CS5 to make the tree-trunk disappear. (Scary tool -- Now I can leave the chain saw in the car and bring my tripod instead! ) Thanks for the help!

Great spot Wayne. Love the fiery foliage all around.

Thanks for sharing. Don't have cs5 but the content tool does seem strangely cool.

I love the rich warm colors Wayne! I do like this much more minus the trunk.

I like this, Wayne. Looks better without the tree trunk in the corner. That reflection is just beautiful.

This came out very nice, Wayne. Looks like the retake brought in a small piece of sky too. To me that seems to work OK as we tend to look for deeper areas in most images anyway. Looks like the C/A feature did a good job here too.

Well I'm glad that you left the chainsaw at home Wayne

Tis a beautiful scene with some great details, I'm jealous that we don't get the same fall colour out west here.

Wayne: Thanks for sharing another version of this image. I like this one very much. Content Aware Fill can certainly work well in the right situation. Looks GREAT here.

I missed the last one, but this one looks great. The OOF leaves are no prob at this size, but an enlargement may be troublesome

Much better without the tree trunk Wayne. The ratio of this image versus the other really opens it up. I'd like to borrow your chain saw sometime  . Great job.

I missed the last post, but the riot of fall color in this scene is amazing. This is a beauty, Wayne.

Not that the old one was bad--but i like this one sooo much more! That bit of sky adds a whole new layer of depth, and the comp is much better balanced. Just beautiful! :toast:

I guess I like the scene as a whole, better without the sky. But this is a wonderful shot no doubt. I think the richness of the colors, and the place come through a little stronger without the sky.

Looks good. I like the intense color and the texture of the water.
