Juniper
by Doug Roane
I'm trying to learn tree identification, but I believe this is a common juniper (?)- please correct me if I'm wrong. Found as a small young sapling about 4-foot high, along a lake shore in central-eastern Montana (Fort Peck Lake/ Missouri River Breaks, C.M. Russell NWR). It was an amazingly bright golden hue alone in the midst of prairie grass, with a smaller bush behind it (causing the golden bg).
Canon 5D2. Sigma 150/2.8 macro. ISO 100. f/2.8. 1/1500 sec. C&C appreciated.

8 commentsNice sense of depth, and it would be nice to know what this golden beauty is.
This looks as though it has some possibilities and is probably a good starting point.
