This is one of the last blooms left in my backyard. Sad to see them go, especially since I've had so little time for photos.

I didn't get the depth of focus I wanted since it was hand held - my tripod decided to abandon me. D50, 150mm macro lens, ISO 400, 1/1000, f4

Comments and critiques appreciated.

Well, Steve, I wrote a comment and it went to the great bit-bucket in the sky.

I'm sorry about your tripod. Good luck getting a replacement.

I like the water drops, DOF, and the angle from which you were shooting.

Cheers,

Carol

Great bg Steve. I particularly like the gradient and the color. The comp strikes me as unusual but I think it works here, at least it does for me. I think the image would be stronger with more dof but it looks pretty good for hand held. Sorry about your tripod. I like the image as posted.

Steve, nice color/lighting and an interesting perspective. Sorry about your tripod. I'm seeing a bit of blocking in the BG (just an observation).

Steve: The DOF/POF works very nicely for me. My only nit is I would like for the center to have just a smidgen more room on the right side. Hope the tripod woes end soon. >=))>

Phil, thanks for noticing the blocking. It isn't on the larger so I must have done something wrong with the conversion. Here's another version.

FYI - my new tripod is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Yes!
