Towards Java

This is looking west from a place called Tanah Lot, on Bali's west coast. Taken during the monsoonal season, I was hoping for a spectacular light show in the sky, but instead got something far moodier. It took a long time to get a chance for a clear frame, as the young Indonesian tourists from Java were standing out on the rocks posing for photographs - tempting fate a little with the restless ocean. In fact, I was seriously worried that a rescue may have to be performed once or twice.
Cheers

Looks like a wild scene-lots of crazy colors! The cyan looks a bit too heavy, probably just needs a slight warm up. Id love to see it bigger--i recommend posting at full size (720 pix limit) :wavey:

Oh, 720pixels? I shall resize and repost it. I have warmed it slightly Stan, but the image is just very blue - if I push it too far it starts to look a little forced. It was just a blue evening.....

I like the sense that the water seems to almost blend in with the sky on the left. Quite a light show too.

This has a very raw and untouched mood to it, refreshingly somehow unexpected from a location like Bali, although I admit that I really don’t know much about the place (aside from it being a tropical paradise). The foreground is very appealing. I think that the repost still has too much cyan. Perhaps, instead of warming it up even more, try reducing the cyan saturation. I’m also wondering if some additional detail could be coaxed out of the farthest rock outcropping with a localized shadows adjustment.

Sky colors and clouds are splendid, as the reflections in water, and the whole image conveys a sense of energy... I like it a lot!

Very nice cloud structure Scott. I'm enjoying the blues and the action in the waves. Interesting rock formation. Beautiful ocean image.

What a great collection of color captured here! I particularly enjoy the subtle "z" pattern my eye follows up through the main elements and lines found in the image. No nits here, well done!

That is a beautiful scene, and impressive light show! I agree about too much cyan, but other than that, this is great!

I think the size and web compression must really be hurting this, because the subject and the comp are outstanding. Would love to see it bigger and sharp!
