You're a year behind  Beautiful winter scene, i just love this kind of shot! The one branch up front (that splits the tree) kind of pulls my attention, but otherwise the comp is real nice. :wavey:

Dang, that's really nice! So elegant and clean. I really want something like this in my portfolio. This winter hopefully I'll get it!

Wonderful, Lori. I love winter scenes like this, and this is really nice. It looks just like this here right now. I was out this morning, but this makes me want to head right back out.

Here's the horizontal. Looks like some color shifts and jpeg compression problems with this one for some reason, and it was saved at a higher quality setting. Putting that aside, do you prefer the composition on the vertical or horizontal?

Very nice Lori - makes me cold just looking at it. Looks like a grand time to be out and about playing though. It's a tough decision on which I prefer, but I'm leaning toward the horizontal. That seems to work better IMO.

Personally I prefer the horizontal a little more as the top third of the vertical seems a bit cluttered but either way this is a lovely shot of a snowy woodland.

Hi Lori,

I prefer the horizontal myself. It focuses more on the trunks of the trees, which makes it more graphic and interesting for me. You also mentioned a color shift, I am seeing a slight green tone on the trees and snow on my monitor.

What a lovely winter scene! I prefer the vertical version because it works better with the trees. Overall a great scene and well captured!

I like both, Lori. Really hard to pick. Other than the spider web of frosted branches, I also love the subtle lichen (moss?) patterns on the trunks. This really should be seen in a large print.

Thanks, Guy. They're lichen and do show up beautifully in the print.

I have a slight preference for the original version. Wish there were a larger one to appreciate all those icy details. Wonderful shot.

Love the snow clinging onto all of the branches. Both are special images. I am leaning towards the vertical as I like the tree on the right leaning in and leading the eye back to the dominant tree in the center. Very nice Lori.

Nice winter scene Lori. I prefer the horizontal comp better primarily due to the one branch that crosses the URC in the vertical comp.

Great conditions to be out photographing Lori. I prefer the vertical version myself. This must be awesome printed big. Just so much to look at and the detail in the trunks contrasts nicely with the ice snow on the limbs. Cheers

I vote for the vertical. This must look awesome in a print. The color looks a little cleaner in the vertical version too. The horizontal looks a little cyan.

Gorgeous. I like the vert best. These trees seem to be dancing.

Lori: Terrific capture. I prefer the vertical but I seem to see better in portrait orientation. Probably 75% or more of my shots are verticals. This is really good photography. >=))>
