Kelp and Rock Abstract

I was up in Big Sur over Thanksgiving and made this B&W image of some kelp detail.

Feel free to view the large image. The small one rather kills the detail.

This is nice, Harley. Like Dan, I appreciate the tones, especially in the kelp since it wouod have a tendency to quite dark. I also like the the senous curves of the intrusions in the rock and how they relate to the curves in the kelp. I think this works very well in B&W because this is about form and tone, rather than color.

Wonderful arrangement. My first thought when I saw it was that it reminded me of an Edward Weston image. Very classic and classy look.

Harley,

Great study in texture, form and lines. The tonal range is excellent as well. This is an excellent and well crafted intimate seaside image. No nits from me!

Very nice! I love the dark mood this portrays, yet still has a ton of great detail throughout. Sweet. :toast:

This is a little different Harley, but I like it. Great detail thought the scene. The b&w is a nice touch. Nice find.

The pattern of the rock on the left is already fantastic, but the whole composition makes it unique.
