I looked out my back door one morning last fall and saw this scene. I've watched this buck for the last two years. He hasn't been around for several weeks, and the local rumor is that he was taken by a hunter. The last time I saw him he had been injured and was limping. He was a great "neighbor" and will be missed.

Very cool scene! It seems to me that this image might be a but over saturated :wavey:

You are lucky to see this by your house but very nice in order that it lasts. When a wild animal accustom to humans the result is almost always the same, it dies.
I think the same as Mark, a bit over saturated.

Hi Russ,

Very nice scene. I suppose one can take solace in the fact that if a hunter didn't pick this fine specimen off, a predator likely would have (given your comment that it was injured and limping).

I see a bit of a compositional challenge here - I quite like how the tree provides a natural frame on the left side of the image, but would like to see more room on the right side of the image (and producing that room would likely take much or all of that tree on the left - all assuming you have more room around what we're looking at to re-crop). Always compromises...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

It is a little on the warm side, but with some toning down I think it will qualify as genuinely pretty! Nice capture. Great specimen! I hope he somehow made it an extra season.

Great looking buck! Great color and light! Agree about toning down the saturation just a little.
