Here is another image taken only a few minutes after my previous post "Eight Below", just as some sunlight poked through a hole in the trees and briefly illuminated a portion of mist rising off of the frosty river. As always, comments and critiques are welcome! Thanks for looking.

ISO 200

Excellent composition. I like the palette of delicate blues.

Nice tones and mood, Zack. I like the foreground and the background by themselves but I'm not sure if they work too well together because for me they seem to fight for attention. This is intensified by the vertical center lines that cut the image in two parts. But that's just me ;)

Interesting composition. I do find my eye drawn a little to the top left corner but it does work well and the conditions are stunning. Tristan

Beautiful image; loved that mist. The shore/bank on the opposite side looks tilted to the right.
Or may be its just my eyes

Balakumar: the bank of the river naturally slopes here, as the trees (at least the ones that are not leaning) are straight.

I like this more than the last one--some nice layers and mood. The ulhc is a tad distracting, but not a deal-breaker. Nice shot! :wavey:

That's a wonderful moment seized, and it conveys your title perfectly. Really well done, and I admire your dedication in this kind of cold.

Zack,

Ahhh, now I see the context of the previous posting. I like the near far comp here and I like the striking addition of the light in the ULC; it at least provides a hint of some dancing light around you. The soft, cool tones work well here too.

The only nit I have is what looks like some barrel distortion and leveling correction of the far shore.

Beautiful, Zack. Love the composition. Really gives the viewer a sense of cold and the beauty of winter.

This works too, Zack. Foreground shapes are my favorite here.

I really like this image. The touch of pink colour on the upper left corner is a nice addition. But it is me or the picture is a bit tilted clock-wise?

I love beautiful, yet anonymous places and you've captured this to perfection. The tones and colours are just perfect.

Now this looks cold! I just came back from Finland - I know the look of "cold".. That bit of warm light in the upper left corner is quite an asset in this composition.
