Leafscape 2

Another leafscape - hope you don't mind. Flowers are indeed beautiful, but I guess I'm just more attracted to leaves and ground clutter. Shot in Talladega National Forest in NE Alabama. As always, no "gardening" or rearranging in this image.

LARGER version also available for better detail. (although larger version was saved at a 5 so compression is an issue there)

D2X w/ 28-70 @ 28mm
.4 sec @ f/11 - LU and mc-30 remote release
100 ISO
Singh Ray Circ. Polarizer
Tripod
Capture One 6, CS4, TK's actions (Lum, Glow, and Sharpening)

Critiques, suggestions, and comments always welcomed and very much appreciated. Thanks for looking and sharing.

Hi Bill,

I like the colors in your leafscapes.

In this one I like the branch of leaves in the ULC that helps direct the eye around the image.

Cheers,

Carol

Bill: Flowers are grand but so are leaves and trees so keep 'em coming. In this one the various textures are what stand out. There isn't a strong dominant element though so I do tend to drift around the image a bit but I think that's a good thing. Well done. >=))>

Geez Bill, I remember leaves....must be a few months ago now and today they are under 3 feet of snow! So this is a wonderful scene. Thanks for sharing.

I'll enjoy these as long as you'll keep posting them Bill. Superb textures and a very well balanced composition. I have no idea how you see that. Complex enough to be overwhelming and just force the mind to shut down. I guess these remind me a little of mantras/mandalas. The soft colors and processing contribute to that serene, quieting aspect of the image as well. I like it very much.

Fantastic, Bill. The varied color and textures of the leaves are incredible. Absolutely superb image. Reminds me of some of Eliot Porter's work. Love it.

Leaves are awesome, and this is a beautiful presentation. Having the larger version open on my screen gives a sense of peace. I think a very large print of this would be wonderful.

Excellent. I like the square comp and the design created by the leaves and needles works very well.
