Crop Circles

Here is an experimentation in minimalist composition.

Comments
Location: White Sands National Monument, NM
@Vincent: I used to only shoot during the golden hours, but Varina's influence has made me more likely to shoot at all times of the day. I have to force myself to look at thing differently to come way with a half decent shot.
@Koveh: I had to fight the urge to increase the contrast in the sky. In reality the sun was just out of the frame on the upper right side. This rendered the clouds with very low contrast details.

All C&C welcome. Thanks.
-Jay

I love the simple beauty of images like this Jay. Having seen some of yours and Varina's White Sands images of late I think this is sand but it could well be the snowy landscape in New England. Wonderful, delicate image.

Wonderful, Jay. Love the high-key approach to this one and how it illustrates the foreground so well.

Very nice composition Jay. The circles around the plant really add to the scene.

Nice. I like the airiness from the lighter tones.

Jay, this is a great example of simplistic beauty. Only critique I can give is that I could stand ot see just a tad more contrast in the clouds towards the top, but that is minor. Well done!

Superb, Jay. The simplicity and the higher value tones work extraordinarily well. Really like the pattern in the sand from the wind blown grasses. Outstanding.

This is great. It's easy to imagine it for sale in a gift shop by the beach. The high key processing gives an airy feel that is calming.

If this is an experiment, I'd say that you succeeded. This is a rather beautiful desert dunes scene.

I think your experiment has worked Jay, the soft lines and light look great and the dune grass stands out beautifully.

Really subtle and beautiful image. From the circles to the grass cluster that comp is very strong. I'm a fan of the clean, low contrast upper end and this works as a very elegant image.
