On the original I got a little too tight on the BG petal so I decided to crop a little to make it look like I did it intentionally. I'm actually partial to the 9:16 crop but have also included a 5:7 version. Any preferences? All comments welcome. >=))>

The crops certainly place the emphasis on different parts of this beautiful flower. I am slightly leaning toward the 5x7 for the added inclusion of impact for the lower front petal, but still like the 9x16. You really rocked this series with this Iris, Bill. Keep them coming as they are outstanding!

Bill, in this page I see thee photos of a beautiful blue Iris. I like them all, even if I prefer the second, because I love images of flowers that seem to show human feelings.
Here I would choose the second post, as it is simpler.
Can you tell me where to buy an Iris that inspire such beautiful photos?
Cheers.

Bill,

They're both gorgeous. If I had to choose, I think I'd go with the second. I have a slight preference for seeing more of the detail in the petals. This is another in a what has been a superb series.

4 votes so far for the second version, two ( yours and mine) for the first version. I think the only thing I would like to see is a little more sharpness in the larger FG petal (the one pointing downward). Lovin' your iris series...keep 'em coming. :wavey:

Beautiful light here giving the flower an almost translucent quality. Well done. I prefer the 2d version.

I prefer the second one. There seems to be better separation of the FG bloom and the colours are a litttle more "lively" to my eye.
