Roaring Plains storm

This was taken in 2008 on a mountaintop plateau in West Virginia called the Roaring Plains. It often earns its name too. This particular cell just passed us by but there was more to come behind that golden horizon and a couple of days later (on June 23!) we got a real monster that actually became an ice storm and turned the meadows white with a couple of inches of ice pellets. I didn't get any pictures of that one though because we were hunkered like groundhogs in a spruce thicket.

C&C welcome

Nice! Great clarity, color balance, and the wind in the trees is just icing on the cake! :toast:

What a dramatic shot, with the wind shown in that tree on the left, a bit of rain coming down and the bit of sunlit sky. I'd hang it the wall.

The impact of the wind is impressive Robert. The ominous sky is wonderful as well as the distance glow of the clouds.
