Winter Coyote

Another photo from our winter Yellowstone adventure a few weeks ago. I was watching this guy hunting up on a distant ridge when suddenly it changed direction and approached me rather quickly through the deep powder, he passed right by me and joined it's mate waiting 20 yards behind me. I didn't have a clue the other coyote was there, If I had I might not have got this photo.

Mark IV, 600mm, f8, ISO 400, 1/1600, manual spot meter off snow +1 2/3 EV

Nice one Ken, you capured the intensity of the eyes and the stormy look to the weather. Nicely done. :wavey:

Nice work Ken. I like the flying snow and his determined yet cautious expression. Good job getting the big lens focused on the moving subject. :toast:

I just love these 'colour-on-white' images. And this image is even more incredible because of the fact that the coyote is running towards you and the eye contact is just too good. :toast:

When I saw this was one of yours Ken I thought to myself, "Snow, in Ecuador?!?!" - LOL ;^)

Seriously, another beautiful image, particularly appealing is the sense of purpose I feel from the subject's eyes, and I love the snow thrown up showing the speed of his forward motion, very well done again :^)

Kind regards,

Ashley

I love the way it is just the coyote and the snow. I think it was wise not to put a frame on this one. Gives the whole screen to be part of the image. I like how the coyote is coyly looking at the camera and its raised tail.

Nice one Ken, I like it that the head is facing you straight, but that the body is slightly curved and the tail even more. :toast:

I love the way he is staring right at you, and the snow flying from his leg looks awesome! I like the composition and the detail in his fur.

I would have been the guy watching the wrong coyote! This is an especially nice example of how action lifts and image to a whole new level. Good work!

Great job of handling the bright snow and an interesting story. I really like the look this coyote is giving, the larger image looks great, way to go, well done.
