I took this image at the beginning of Spring 2009, near the South Yuba River State Park. It was a great year for the poppies in this area.

Equipment Used: D300, 105mm VR, Gitzo 1227, RRS BH-55, and (as always) lots of coffee

Hi Zachary! This is a nice poppy shot. I like the lighting and comp. Good choice on the DOF too. The BG works very well too.

The lack of perfect balance keeps it real and the colors are awesome.Very nice indeed!

Honestly, I've been a lurker here in these forums too long. Every once in a while I'll post an image and a comment or two, but I rarely contribute anything. I'm going to try and be a little more consistent and contribute when I can. Most of the time, I just feel so outclassed by the amazing images that I see on these forums/galleries, I don’t feel like I have a lot to offer. Despite this, I'm going to give back what I can. Ok, I'm off my soapbox, now... and no, I'm not running for a political position here at NPN! :wink:

This has a nice graphic quality to it Zachary! You can't go wrong with complimentary colors like this. Your comp is excellent too.
