This is my first post here and would like to say g'day to you all.

Some great clouds this week gave me the inspiration to get out to one of my favourite locations on the coast – Coolum Beach, one of Queenslands favourite holiday destinations and my local beach. It is made up of one beautiful long sandy beach and to the South a series of rocky bays with patches of golden sand. The latter are my favourite places to head, lots of interesting elements to shoot and away from the holiday makers. I’ve been keeping an eye on the clouds all week, but while we’ve had interesting skies in the day by afternoon they have built too much into overcast conditions. Todays selection of clouds were much more promising. The shot I went there for was dashed as two fisherman had already claimed the spot by my favourite pandanus tree. So this is what I captured instead.

I really like the light in this, Neil. It is so soft and diffuse, but with some nice subtle highlights on the foreground rocks. A very peaceful, pleasing seascape.

Wonderful shot. I like the foreground rocks leading into the frame and then getting the sky colors to match the sand really adds to the peacefulness.

Really nice photo, Neil. Glad you have joined us here! Great fore-ground to mid-ground transition, love the action in the water & I really like the light earth/pastel tones throughout. :toast:

Welcome!

This is really nice! I don't know what happened before or after this with the light/color. But I wish for just a little more of that soft peachy color in the sky.
