Lipstick Red

I really love this shade of Red. Finally our Tulips are out but we had rain yesterday and strong winds today. Yield was less due to the 40 MPH winds - tough focussing, keeping a watch on the cap and all that.

One of the sharper frames. This is not the edge of the petal but the mid-rib of the petal.

ND200, 50mm F/1.8+36mm ET @ F/3.5, 1/250 Sec, ISO200 and Handheld (what a pain).

Thanks for your comments on Finally a Tulip and do let me know if this one finds any favour with you.

Would never know this is a tulip - expertly done in standard Ram fashion.

Superb abstract Ram. Love the composition and the two gradients. Mathematical and somewhat sensual at the same time.

Ram: Looks like you are in mid-season form already. I agree with you about the colors and your comp and DOF choices are superb. I think all of us will have to hold on to our hats as you post more of these beauties. >=))>

Beautiful abstract. The curve of the mid rib really makes this dynamic.

Ram, I spent considerable time looking for abstracts in tulips, and came away empty. Meanwhile, here you go posting another amazingly beautiful abstract. Grrrr. Fabulous again. :toast:

Ram:
Superb. You abstracts are all top notch and I am really looking forward to a treat now that your poppies are out.

Like Scot, I spend a few days looking to compose poppy abstract when I was in Regent Park recently and coming away empty handed. You make this all look so easy.

Good grief Ram!! I cannot come up with an abstract like this in the studio, but you stroll out in high winds, without a tripod and snag this shot! An absolute stunning shot Ram, complete with your special touch!

I thought of having just admired a splendid photo in your previous post, but this is even more beautiful. Simplicity, when well composed and stark structured, always pay. Bravo!
Cheers.
