Nikon D200, Nikon VR 80-400
@400, f/5.7, handheld

Same fox kit – different picture - of my previous post (2 days ago). I followed the suggestions from that posting and went for a tighter crop on the bottom and added a larger file. Thanks for watching!

Very nice! Those huge ears are amazing. I like the soft lighting from the left.

I like the side-lighting and it's a very cute kit!
I would be tempted to crop some from the top for a more "panorama" presentation?

I think the composition/crop work well. Nice soft side-lighting on the face. Remarkable how skinny it is.

What a fragile looking cutie Esme'. Great look back pose with good detail and catchlights! The extremely long tail and large ears are striking. I love the soft light and the fact that the BG is in shade helps a lot. The uncomplicated environment focuses all the attention on the kit, whilst at the same time portraying its harsh living environment. A slight panoramic crop could work. I like this. :toast:

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. We were incredibly lucky in running into this desert fox family. The parents ran away and kept an eye on the pup form the top of the hill. The kit, too curious to resist, kept coming forward and resting in a sequence of beautiful poses. To add to our luck the encounter happened at sunset: the light could not have been better. All I had to do was to lay still on the desert floor, and shoot :-)
