This is a portrait in the Sampson-bana style (smile). I only managed one shot with setup. I was going to do a stack but when I went to adjust the flower, the whole pot fell and shattered so I have to content with a not so sharp flowers in the right and rear.

D90 50mm F11 1/2 sec CS5 Viveza Velvia effect and TK masks. Thanks for looking and C&C appreciated.

Excellent! The vase and ebony-like table sets off the blooms w/exquisite mood. Great placement, esp the bloom on table. Ouch! ....shattered pot! So-called not sharp flowers are fine in my eye. Ken S

Gary,

This is gorgeous for my tastes. It's a beautiful arrangement and the dof looks fine to me. I'm sorry the pot was broken though. I don't think you could have found a better color to complement the blooms.

On my uncalibrated monitor the whites look just a touch bright. May just be my monitor.

I think your lighting works well.

I love the bloom on the table in this as well as the table itself. Don't think any of mine have used the table as effectively as this.

I like it very much. (smile)

Beautiful vision.. your course is paying off well!
Lovely colour in the pot to complement the flowers, and perfect placement in the frame of both flowers and pot.
Just wonderful!

Very nicely done, Gary. The colors are outstanding and the arrangement works well. I like the lighting and the reflection...and since you pointed it out, too bad you didn't get that 2nd exposure to get those details and blend.

Gary: Very Sampsonesque and just beautifully done. On my monitor the whites look fine. Superb lighting and comp. Sorry to hear about the vase but its parting shot is certainly memorable. >=))>

Really really good. The cool white balance works well with the blue vase. The one flower on the perch really makes this photo for me. Have you heard of Florabella Actions  ? I think you might want to have a look at those - should work good for some of your floral work, Gary

You don't really notice the lack of sharpness in the odd flower, Gary - this is just supremely beautiful. The superb lighting, of course, is a key factor, but the overall clarity of texture and the placement of the fallen bloom also make this a bit special.

The alternation of Low-Key and High-Key images helps to find the best Normal-Key? Anyway I love this dark photo as much as I love your recent highlighted posts. Excellent, Gary.
Take care.
