This is another in my series from my recent trip to the Columbia Gorge. I liked the comp and it is still a work in progress but I would like to hear your thoughts.

I want to thank Joseph Rossbach for the techniques I used to process this image. I don't have a lot of PP experience and I used a technique from his tutorials to bring this image up to what I really wanted to show. Thanks Joseph!!!

This is a single image processed in CS5.

Tremendous sense of depth and mystery here. The light is very delicate, with a very nice color balance. The contrast of static and moving elements is great...

The flowing water and the lines of mossy boulders work well as leading lines, and of course the subject is beautiful. It seems to me it might could have used a little more room on the left.

Composition looks nice to me - also like the crisp details and color, but appears just a tad on the dark side IMO.

The composition is very nice, with some depth feel. My sugestions in PP is to recover some detail at the shadows and give some extra sharpen in the entire scene.

Very nice, inviting scene here Jack. It all looks very good to me though I agree with Bill that it could be a bit brighter. Just a bit more tinkering in CS5 and it will be perfect in all likelihood.

Lovely comp and nice light. It feels a bit dark on my monitor, but it does show off the colors (well green, anyway) quite nicely.

Hi Jack - I really like the composition and feel of this image. The texture of the moss is great and I like the framing a lot. I agree with Tony that the image is a bit dark. I like the overall mood, but could appreciate a bit more brightness, too. Nice work!

Jack,

A beauty from the Gorge area. Even though I'll agree with the others in terms of the overall darkness, I think your processing in general is quite excellent with this image.

The only wish/suggestion I have is a slightly wider view kind of what Randy was eluding to. Of course that's an after thought and I suspect you were at your focal length limit for whatever lens you were using. Sometimes we have to make compositional choices simply because of the situation in front of us. I would like more room, but this is still a beautiful image.

Lovely scene! I really like the composition and the slightly dark mysterious feel to the whole image, well captured and processed!

This is very nice Jack. I like the water motion and overall feel you have with the flow through the moss covered rocks. The repost looks a little to bright on my monitor, so I prefer the original. Maybe something somewhere in the middle of those two would be just right. Nice work.

Really a nice moving water image. Great shutter speed and good saturation of the greens. IMO the lighting is improved in the second image. Maybe bring out a bit more in the shadows. Nicely done.

I've always thought that your photos had great processing potential Jack, and it's great to see the PP catching up with your capture skills. Your recent posts have been looking very good, and this is no exception. I like a bit of a blend between these two. The foreground is perfect in the first photo, and a gradient that mixed your second post into the background would be very nice. Beautiful comp and flow. :toast:
