Sanibel Light Driftwood

The Sanibel Lighthouse is one of my favorite local landmarks to photograph. I made this one this morning.

I don't usually shoot at ISO 400, but I had set it to cope with the breeze in the earlier light and forgot to set it back.

Canon 1D3, 24mm TS-E
ISO 400, f11, 1/125

I don't think ISO 400 is a problem at all here, especially with the B&W conversion. I think the high contrast works great on the skies, like using a red filter with film. IMHO the high contrast works pretty well on the FG roots, too, but the brighness there does seem to overwhelm the rest of the image, considering the lighthouse is the subject. Still good enough to hang on any wall.

Wayne-
Your point is well taken, though I thought of the root clump as main subject and lighthouse as backdrop. But really it was the sky the made me make the picture. I'll take a look at toning the wood down a bit. Good suggestion
