Flowering Monkeys

by Dean Sauskojus

These Monkey Flowers are found in wet areas and what's interesting is that ferns and grasses grow right along with them. I included a log to break up the photo and add some interest.

As always thanks for taking a look. Any critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add would be much appreciated.

I like the contrast between the log and the flower colors. I also like the comp. Well seen image.

Very nice Dean. The colors are beautiful and this is very pleasing to look at. Nice work on the comp too.

While the beautiful flowers are the show stopper, there would, of course, be no image here without the log. Well seen.
How does sharpness/DOF hold up? It looks like camera movements would have been incredibly useful here.

Perfect light and development, Dean. The diagonal log definitely creates a more dynamic frame here.

Beautiful flowers, Dean. I find the way the wood directs my eye not to "flow" so well in the image. But, it is still a pleasant photo.

Very nice scene and I like the comp and colors. The Monkey Flowers we have around here are yellow with sticky leaves, but they're gone now. Well done.

Hi Dean - I love this little summer scene. I think the diagonal log adds a nice counterpoint to the vibrant flowers. Really nice work.

Wonderful little intimate of these flowers, Dean. The log works, but only because there are flowers that intersect with it, connecting it with the rest of the scene. Well seen!

A gorgeous intimate landscape. Great color and light and the comp works quite well, too.

Not very original, but still a classic composition executed beautifully. Love the photo. Looks like you've managed to get good overall sharpness too.

I think this is great, Dean. Your composition works perfectly and the vibrant blooms are, of course, wonderfully refreshing.
