Storms,stars.... Repost

I took this last night, just before midnight. Two storm fronts, among many last night and this morning, were visible with very different looks. I found these hay bales and was able to get into position to capture both storms. The moon was bright behind me. I've tried to reduce the orange in the right side clouds, but haven't had much luck. Any ideas how to accomplish that in CS5? They didn't look that orange to the naked eye. 7D, ISO 1600, 20s, f/5.6, 23mm full frame except for minor lens distortion correction.

I think this is a powerful image. The sky makes the image and the hay bales give balance and a sense of place.

Pretty cool Rob. Have you considered cloning out the red light? I don't mind the slight bit of color in the clouds on the right. Did you shoot in RAW? You might change the white balance to cool it down some. Great effort capturing this image!

Great sky and color. I like the combination of the stars, the motion blur in the clouds and the lightning. However, there's something weird going on near the left edge of the large cloud - probably the result of blending different layers.

As for the orange in the sky, if you use Lightroom you can just put the hue/saturation picker in the orange area and adjust the hue or reduce the reds and yellows. You can also make a selection of the cloud in Photoshop and do something similar. It should not be difficult at all.

I wish there was more room at the bottom and I would definitely clone out the red light.

Hope that made sense.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Marsel, the weird edge you are talking about was actually in the original file. My best guess is that the fast moving clouds, combined with a chance in cloud lightning bolt, combined to create the double edge look. I messed with the edge to try and "fix" it, but didn't have much luck yet.

Rob - maybe it's a shadow caused by the lightning.

Here is a repost. I cloned out the red tower, and tried to fix the cloud shadow effect. Does the cloud fix look ok?
