All Pan Glow

Taken during a drive through of Denali National Park two autumns ago (I won the lottery). The down side is that all the Fall colors are pretty much gone by then and everything is a rusty brown. The bright red sunset amplified the orange/brown colors even more. The sunset only lasted a few minutes and we were in a location that didn't work well shooting toward it so I turned around and shot the glow on the mountains and valley behind us. The dynamic range of the scene was pretty strong so I used the tripod and shot 4 frames for the panorama. Each frame consisted of 3 exposures. I blended the exposures first and then stitched them.

Unfortunately, even the large version is severly compressed due to the pano format but hopefully you can get some sense of the scene.

It took me a millisecond to click on the "View Large" button here and if there were another button I would have kept on clicking. That's a shot that can't be fully appreciated on the web but shines wonderfully in a large version. Great light and view anyway.

I always find it difficult to post and judge panoramic images online, but as far as I can see this is very nice. A great scene and some wonderfull light on it as well, what more can you wish for  :toast:

Regardless of tundra colors being gone, this is a beautiful scene! I can only imagine how it must have felt driving through this area at sunrise or sunset.

Awesome view Gary. As others mentioned it is hard to get the best look at panoramics here, but this looks very nice. Like the light alot and bet this would look wonderful in a large print! :toast:

This is beautiful Gary. I like the warm light here and the snow capped peaks.

Perfect subject for a strong pano and nice light. I could see maybe opening up the shadows a bit more, as it looks like you have good detail in there.

A grand landscape for sure. I like the light,(who wouldn't?) and the pano. Plenty of room for a person to breathe there.

Love the rusty browns and reds here. There's plenty of color and beautiful light.
