Seasonal Mix

Lots of really, really nice images here lately. It's difficult to keep up. Winter is definitely here and many of the recent scenes on the forum tell that story perfectly. Of course, it's 80 degrees where I live and not a hint of winter, but what the heck.

This one is from my Colorado fall trip in October. The early season snow was fun to work with. I have always loved seeing shots of the scattered aspen leaves with fresh snow, so when those types of scenes presented themselves to me, I was grinning from ear to ear. Yeah, nothing really original or special here, but it's something that made an impact on me and I think that is what really matters.

Canon 1Dmk3, 90mm TS-E, two shot stitch.

Real pretty take on a classic theme. Simple and beautiful . . . nicely done! It will make a wonderful print, particularly in light of your stitch with the TS-E.

Beautiful capture. I agree there is nothing like some fall leaves in the snow to create a great photo.

Very coooool Jimmy. A very nice mix of colors and that snow really makes them pop. I was wondering what part of CO were you in?

The even mix of yellow and red really elevates this, i think. Probably would have worked even better with a cleaner snow bg, but it's still pretty cool!

What fun. This would be a really nice giant-size image I think.

Wonderful, Jimmy! You're very observant. The combination of colors
and elements from two seasons is to my liking. You did a good job
on the exposure, particularly maintaining the appropriate whiteness
in the snow. In my opinion, this would make a beautiful print.

Yeah, I'd like to have one of those in my portfolio too! This is a nice one with great color and natural separation of the leaves. I especially like how some of the leaves are on edge. My only nit/wish is for a little deeper, and pristine snow.

So, are you coming up for Christmas again? If you are and want to go shoot, let me know. We'll have to drag Overacker out of the house this time too.

Jimmy,

Love this one. Well seen and crafted. Great job with the exposure and processing too. I think this is one that would really need to be appreciated in a larger size to enjoy the little details.

As timing would have it, I have something very similar coming up shortly and honestly not nearly as strong as yours. Great eye and nice work Jimmy.

Stunning color and detail set against that snow. Love the subtle texture you have retained in the snow as well. Excellent, excellent work.

Nice Jimmy.....I shouldn't have missed this first time around but like you said, "it's difficult to keep up". Great colors and perfect exposure, the snow looks great. :toast:

Lovely subject matter - leaves on snow. I like the even spread of the leaves in the frame.
