Doors II

Doors II, Santana Row, San Jose, California / February 2012

I have always been fascinated by doors. They exist everywhere, allowing a selected few to pass through while denying access to the rest. It often requires a certain privilege, authority or cunning to open one and cross over to the other side.

Here are a couple of one-sided doors photographed in the twilight.

Thanks for looking. Your thoughts are most appreciated.

What an interesting find, Anil! Fantastic comp, good lighting, and nice neutral colors in this. Just curious why the brown strip on the left doesn't go all the way up as the rest do? It breaks up the flow of the photo, which can be a plus or a minus depending how one looks at it. Great eye to spot this scene.

I like this a lot, Anil! It is a wonderful abstract. Did you shoot this with your Pentax, too? It would make a great print!

I like this a lot, Anil. Real strong form and lines.

I can't say I am a big fan of phone photography, mainly for the fact you can't do much with it due to the small file size. Nice for scouting, the memories and sharing, but I would not want to make a wall-hanger with one.

Yes, a bit of a sense of mystery. Note the doors have no handles, no locks, and they open back to back.

Stunning design to your composition, Anil. The strong lines, perfectly aligned, the wonderful light, and the mysterious absent door handles make this a remarkable image.

Nice find and good offset comp. Perhaps a hair of CW rotation?

A very simple composition that works really well. I like the simplicity of it.
