Was out this weekend shooting birds in flight, when I came across this guy sitting on a low hanging branch. I could have easily missed him. I am really drawn to him by the coloring around his eyes! You can certainly tell that spring is in the air. Any C & C's are welcomed! Thanks for looking!

Carlette,
Thank you for sharing the photo of this unusual bird. While we can only shoot what we are presented, it is a shame that the intervening branches are in front of the bird. He certainly has interesting colors. I have never seen one of these before. Is it safe to presume you got this shot in Georgia?

This shot is a little busy but not to much you could have done about that. That is an eye-catching eye!! Nice turquois color.

A nice look at the bird's beautiful breeding plummage and eye coloration. Sometimes tough to catch them in the open, as they love the shelter of bushes. I believe this is a female - the males have black necks.

Nice shot of the prehistoric looking bird. He is well positioned in the frame and you caught him with his wing slightly open emphasizing the striations of the wing. You might try some selective sharpening of the bird and blurring of the surrounding bushes. Nicely seen.
