Violent End/Gentle Start

It must have been a loud and violent end for this pine tree, to snap like this. But then the leaves softly drifted down to nestle in the broken trunk, and rest beneath the snow for the winter. The process of decay will speed up now that spring is here, but even with warm temperatures, leaves and trees turning to soil will be a slow and gentle process, starting this new season, nourishing new life.

The snow cover this year was thin, so it melted very quickly to reveal this scene not far from home.

I love the various layers of color and texture here Wayne. Our winter was a bust too i southern NH. I like the abstract qualities as well as the mix of warm and cool tones.

The textures here are very engaging, Wayne. There's even balance throughout the frame that keeps me looking around and enjoying things.

Very nice image, Wayne. Just like the others you post. I like the comp here as well as the colors and the detail that is in the larger view. And, I agree with you about the start of the process of rebirth - an endless cycle. Thanks for posting.

Texture and detail are great. I like the abundance of warm colors and repetition of triangular shapes.

Wayne, it is a pleasure for me to explore all the delightful details especially in the large version. Your composition is very appealing to me with the diverse areas of interest, and your processing is spot on in my opinion.
