I did not want to be left out of tulip time here at NPN, so here's one taken 4/8/12 (Easter Sunday) at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Youngstown. D700, 180 macro, 1/500, f5, iso 200, tripod. Larger image included. Comments welcome.

Really nice Scott. I love the colors and softness. Sure wish we had more tulips here.

Excellent blend of colors, Scott. Love the classic "Wine Glass" take on the Tulip.

Nice capture. What was in your background the split the colors nicely?

Rick, the BG was other tulips (the lower right BG was a red tulip; the lower left BG was from green foliage). I moved the camera slightly and got different BG colors, but chose this one to post because I liked how the colors got divided by the stem, giving the image sort of a caddy corner or four quarters look.

This is dream-like, Scott. Well done. I really like out of focus artistic renditions
such as this. I have no suggestions for changes or ways to improve.

Difficult to say whit tulip is the best. But this is one of the winners. I like the sigle flower placement through the frame. Nicely done Lanz. :toast:

Hi scott :wavey: Perfectly composed and crafted. The receding softness on the tulip works beautifully. The colors present a sublime combination :toast: :toast:

Fantastic abstract, Scott! Colors are graphic, but the softness you created makes them blend in a very appealing way. Very nicely done.

Such a pretty soft abstract of the tulip, very delicate and great colors, especially the way the stem splits the background colors so nicely.
