Bleeding Heart in Heart

Zeiss 100mm handheld...the sun was getting low and the bleeding hearts came alive with all this glow and beauty. This one captured my eye. I had never noticed the heart shaped vein until the light shone through it...and I've been shooting these for years. Nature's delights never cease to amaze....

(thanks for the comments! ...I have experimented with the llc...not making significant progress on improvements ...else I would add that post ... my cloning skills lack...too impatient to work on 200-300% that is needed to do it right.)

Ken:
This is really sweet, almost iridescent blue. The back light on the focus one makes it glow. Overall I like the composition. However I am not sure about the partial heart in the llc though - it kind of distract and perhaps cropping it out may just make the composition more coherent.

Very interesting color mix. Nice composition, except the bottom left corner; the partly cut flower is a bit distracting the nice harmony of this image. I like very much the light on the top flower. Nicely done Ken. :toast:

Beautiful backlighting, and I like the overall comp and POF on the top blossom. Well done.

These flowers can be so photogenic but you have captured some hidden beauty in this shot, Ken! I, too, had never noticed the heart-shaped vein in these before. The backlight and clear focus on the one heart makes this one really glow. The other hearts also seem to be lining up to also focus attention on that one heart. I agree about a crop from the left side far enough to cut out the white blob; it would steer one's eye more to the true star of the photo.

Very artistic look and feel, I love shooting these and I think this may be the best BH photo I've seen. I think the comp is great.

Very nice shot, with a very interesting subject.
Maybe the pink flowrs in the bBG are a bit distracting.

Ken - Even I did not notice the heart shaped vein before. Thanks for showing it to us. Its so very well seen in the lighted bloom.

Definitely one of the better Bleeding Heart shots I have seen - highly artistic and skillful use of the light.

Masterfully made image, Ken! Looks like a spotlight pierced the woodland foliage and landed right on the star of the the show. What a perfect heart it is and well accompanied by its "chorus line" too. A revealing photo of the colors and details of this delicate looking hardy flower. I'd agree with the cropping suggestion to put this well over the top or to darken the light blob in the llc.

Ken: One of the very best bleeding heart shots I've seen in a long time. Simply cropping to 5:4 mostly from the left side would make this beyond perfect. Superior shot.>=))>
