So many interesting things to be seen in a woodlands! I have a very similar photo I will post sometime of a mushroom and green leaves against a dead log. Looks like this was taken after a shower; a polarizer may have helped with the glare unless you wanted that look. A slight crop from the bottom would help eliminate some of the bottom glare and focus more attention on the mushrooms IMO. The dark log makes a nice background for the light mushrooms and green leaves.

Todd - Well seen. I like the habitat included in the frame and the light partly transmitted through the top of the Mushroom. A polarizer might have cut of the shine on the leaves but then it would have also increased the shutter speeds.

This is very natural looking and appealing in that regard. I like the glow of light in the mushroom. It looks like an intimate scene for the chosen aperture. So I wonder if you could've kept the depth of field while decreasing the aperture number in order to use a polarizer to control the glare on the leaves just a little more. OR! leave it just as it is and let us get our feet wet walking through this bit of forest!

Todd:
What I like about this image is how the light seem to exude between the crevices of the mushroom! The dark log bg is just perfect to showcase this tiny fungus.

Interesting composition with nicely captured details. IMO the crop is a bit tight.

Mushrooms are neat to shoot images of. I like the glow of the head of the mushroom and the comp. works really well. I agree with the comments about a polarizer.

Hi Todd I like the composition, and the subjects in it The vivid color and textured BG enriches the scene !! Very nice work.. I agree with carolyn about a small crop on the bottom, to remove the glare

Excellent capture. The rainy woodland atmosphere really comes through. All these elements work together beautiful. I like in particular the supporting cast of the second mushroom and the heartshaped leaves. Very nice
