Riding a Wave

Redhead. Rockport TX March 2012

D3 ISO 800. 500/4 with 1.4x tc. f5.6 1/2000s. +0.7 ev. Handheld. Sitting at water's edge. (On the +0.7-I had been tracking some flying birds and was overexposing for bright sky background-I got lucky that I didn't lose anything when I came back to Earth!)

There was a strong wind and despite being in a cove the waves were fairly large. I enjoyed seeing them rock along seemingly unaware of the rough water.

I really like the lighting in this image. The color in the water and in the ducks head is very nice. I also enjoy seeing the duck floating in the waves.

Angela i was not sure about the angle of this bird,its really good moving up the rough water the detail on the bird is super.

A lovely shot of this handsome Redhead drake, Angela. Super work on the detail in tough light. I know the angle is authentic but it is a bit disconcerting...

Beautiful focus, Angela. I'm not sure the wave comes across with this close a shot. Excellent eye and I like the feel of the water.
