Glen Etive Birches

A small stand of birch trees in Glen Etive, Scotland taken last autumn. The colours in the landscape in this area during autumn really are this vivid and beautiful.

All feedback is welcome and thanks for looking.

Gary.

Gary, I really like this! A wonderful scene and very appealing to me. Feels kind of like a painting and the colors are fantastic! Beautiful!! This looks like it would make a wonderful print. One I would hang on my wall... Cheers.

Aye this is lovely Gary and very much my kind of image and a superb way of summing up that multi faceted gem of a glen.

Yeah, this is excellent, Gary. Great textures and the colors coming through the background are especially beautiful. The white trunks add very nice lines throughout. Super shot!

Beautiful color and detail Gary. The birch trees look like graceful dancers enjoying the beautiful autumn color.

Like a watercolor. Love how the blue background helps the trees to stand out. :toast:

Ditto Nick's comment... this is one I'd print large and display in my home. Stunning in a quiet and beautifully understated way.

I'll be in this area in mid-September. I imagine that's a bit early for color like this, but hopefully things will be turning at higher elevations.

I like the kaleidoscope of colors on the ground and the rhythm created by the trees. Very nice image.

There's a lot going one here...all of it good! Nice color, exposure, great texture, almost painterly. A definite wall hanger!

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I'm delighted with the feedback.

Rick, this area is beautiful all year round. The road through Glen Etive down to Loch Etive is a must do. Hope you have a great trip.

Gary.

It seems that everyone is suddenly posting some really outstanding photos. This is one of them. I really, really like this in many ways. I guess it must be summer and the cameras are getting a workout.

A very appealing composition for me with the diverse layers, I especially enjoy the subtlety of the trees and branches.
