Harlequin Ducks

Olympus E-5, 300mm x 2.0TC, tripod
f9,1/250, ISO1250

Tangle River, East Denali Highway. Despite the very serious lighting challenges, I thought the position of the ducks made a strong enough photo. Now, I'm not so sure.

Full frame. Adjustments to levels. Selective sharpening.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Wish I could find four of these guys to photograph down here in Texas! The specular highlights in the water are a little distracting but overall I think you did a very good job under the low light conditions. I really like the staggered line-up of the three ducks. If it was mine I would crop a little off of the top to remove some of the grass clump from the BG.

I too love the positions of the Harlequins here. But the lighting definitely doesn't help this one.

The duck positions are great. I agree with cropping from the top to focus more on the ducks.

Okay, Jim... The best grouping of Harlequins I've seen. The rest of it is kind of a mess... BUT, I believe it can be fixed up and would try if it were mine. Could be made into a real stunner.
