West Coast Wonder

I've got a ton of pictures from this west coast beach in NZ, all very different as its big enough to use a different spot each time. In fact I'm going to be a guest speaker at the Auckland Museum next month to talk about this beach.

This one has been sitting around for a while. As I said I've got so many and am very selective in what I keep. Thoughts?

Definitely a keeper. Great contrast and drama. I like the transparency of the water over the rocks in the foreground.

Lots and lots of mood in this one. I also like the "mist' effect on the water from the long exposure. A magic moment captured.

Perfectly executed, Kah. Wouldn't change a thing about this one. Really great drama. I love the subtle light play on the foreground rocks.

This is gorgeous Kah Kit! The silky water and reflected light, the silhouettes, right to that fabulous sky. Beautiful.

Peaceful with great pastel color and just the right amount of exposure for the water.

Nicely composed and excellently blended light. Foreground maybe seems a bit bright leading to a loss of texture. While this sort of seems like misty surf, it also seems just a tad overexposed.

Very nice colors and light. Great depth to the image. The blurred water over the rocks have an interesting visual effect. The almost look like ghost rocks.

I like this a lot. If I could add anything, I'd suggest pulling a bit more shadow detail out of the rocks on the fg left and maybe the right a touch. Other than that I'd keep it.

I like the sheen quality to the rocks, and the silhouette in the distance. Nice work

I'd go with cropping this down a bit, to remove the rock on the right and the cliff on the left...they don't seem to add much to the scene.

Personal taste of course, that light in the distance is pretty amazing...

I really like the mysterious and somewhat ghostly feel of the smokey water flowing around the dark rocks. A very nicely balanced comp too. The painted sky is just wonderful.

What a dramatic scene! I really like the reflected warm light on the foreground rocks and also on the sea water.

Blew this out the water (no pun intended!) Great capture. Love the tone, the mood, the pic. I'm a sucker for low light anyway. Well done, well done.

Great shutter speed and exposure... the foreground rocks have a lot of mystery to them but there's still a good amount of detail in them and the water. The clouds provide a nice cloack for the sun
