Psst...don't look now, but...

This one just for fun...go ahead and complete the title. Here's my first crack at it:

Psst...don't look now, but that dope still has his lens cap on!

Subject: Grizzly (Urus arctos) mom and cub sharing a quiet moment
Location: Khutzeymateen Inlet, Great Bear Rainforest, BC, Canada
Camera: Nikon D800
Lens: Nikkor 400mm f2.8 VRII lens - hand-held from floating zodiac. VR on and in "Normal" mode.
Exposure: 1/400s @ f5; ISO 400. -0.33 stop compensation from matrix-metered exposure setting.
Crop: This is about 90% of the full-framed image horizontally - with a little more cropped from top to go to pano-ish aspect ratio

Comments and critiques welcomed - probably best to view the larger version prior to doing so!

Cheers...thanks for looking...

Brad

WOW. What a fine Grizzly picture. You captured the quiet moment. The bears and the rock are well separated from the BG and the crop works for me. Excellent title and caption too. Made me laugh.

Psst...don't look now, but there's a bear standing just behind him!
Psst...don't look now, but he's standing in quicksand!
Psst...don't look now, but his zodiac's just sprung a leak! :toast:

Very nice Brad. Peaceful scene. I can just imagine the resolution this has with the D800!

Here's my take:

"Psst...don't look now, but...that mook still has his fly open!"

Hello Brad

Moody Image... Enjoy the Spread legs of Mom, enjoying the heated rock on her bare belly or is that Bear-Belly?

Amazing to see this Female Grizzly showing her feminine side!

Psst... don't look now, Appear sleepy and quiet.... I know he will get much closer ! :)

Thanks for Sharing.

Bill

Psst...don't look now and don't move; that's that Brad Hill guy, we have posed so many times for and we are still waiting for the first promised bucket of fresh salmon.

Great techs and processing as usual Brad. Just one minor thing I find a little distracting and that is the log on the right pointing towards the right bear's head.

If that's 90% of full frame at 400mm you must have been close! Great shot. :toast:

Pst...don't look now, but wait till they float just a little closer.

Wonderful shot, I like that they are totally at ease and not concerned about your presence at all. I assume that you will drift quietly through the water with no talking to get these kinds of images. Excellent shot.
