Doe Days of Aug

You've heard of the "dog days of August," so why not the doe days as that seems to be all I'm seeing lately. Other people are seeing bucks at the nature preserve but not me. So here's another black-tailed doe for the gallery. The bright spotlight just missed her. If I'd only been there 5-10 mins. earlier. Oh, well. Still a pleasing shot which I hope you will enjoy as well. I have an image with more of the surrounding habitat which I was tempted to use but ultimately decided on this one. Your thoughts on that? Comments and critiques appreciated.

Peter, I like the sharpness and detail you caught in the does face and the detail in the shadow areas of her head. The bright spot I do find distracting. I would be tempted to crop tight on her head and face. Nice that you could find a cooperative model. Thanks for sharing.

This provides a sense of how well wildlife "fits" into the environment. Good job on finding the low and intimate perspective. I agree the bright spot is a little too much. I also think you can enhance the reflectiveness of the orb of her eye in post processing.
