Welcome to NPN Guy. This is a very nice intimate landscape. The small tree adds a nice element IMO and I love the red rock, both for color and texture.

As an aside, may I mention that you will discover you will receive more feedback and comments on your images if you leave comments for others as well. We like to recommend a ratio of leaving at least 5 comments for every post you make. An additional benefit of this (besides more comments back to you) is that you'll make some wonderful friends even more quickly.

Welcome to NPN, Guy!
There's a lot of potential with this scene. I love the angles, and color contrast between white and red. The green in the corner distracts from that and if you could have avoided that it might have helped make this a stronger comp. Also, im guessing from the sheen on the rocks that the light wasn't optimal here; the right light makes all the difference with shots like this. But it's an awesome subject and i like the diagonal presentation.

Why do they call it Red Rock Canyon? :jump: Lots of leading lines into the pool below the falls, even the veins in the rocks and the log. I wish the pool had a bit more motion blur. It doesn't appear that you used a polarizing filter. I think one could have helped here. Never seen rocks that red even in Utah.

Nice intimate image. I find your highlights a little too hot but I love the triple falls. Looks like a great location, hope you'll post more from here.

Guy, This looks like a great place and I think it would have lots of potential. There might be a better time of day to try and shoot this as the light does look less than optimal as Stan mentioned. Not sure how far away this is for you but it would be cool if you could get back at different times in different light. I really like the looks of the red rocks!

Hi everyone,
Thank for your comments. I usually try to get back there 2 times a year. I am new to photography and even newer to processing images, it took me all night to post my first picture (not good with computers and some what frustrating) I have about 5 hours actual time on CS5, but I can't believe the picture actually made it on the site. Yes it looks hot to me as well..{a bit to much saturation} I,m just learning and not sure exactly what I'm doing.
Any advice on either would be great.

Thanks again
Guy

Wow, what a great place. Those opposite diagonals of the three waterstreams against the stripes on the rocks make this even more interesting; and the log is even in line with the water flow. Glad to hear you routinely visit the place. Looking forward to repeat images.
