Bye To Autumn

I was curious to see if I could get up to Piney Lake in Eagle's Nest Wilderness. Some poor person lost their life on the road up there a week ago because of snow and ice, and possibly driving too fast.

So, I was pleasently surprised to learn the rode was passable without 4WD yesterday. And, actually, the Piney River trail was fuller than it was back in August.

The marshland between the lower lake and offered this view.

I was the last one out of there, had to wait for 2 moose to get off the road to let me go home.

Sounds like a fun day up there, and also well worth it. The reflection here is great, and the dusting of snow on the peaks details them nicely. Besides wanting a tad bit more shadow detail on the distant hills, I am really enjoying this as-is!
