Thank you all very much for your comments on the last image. Very much appreciate your suggestions and thoughts.

I posted this image a couple of years ago but am reposting it after a major re-do in processing the scan, attempting to wring every bit of detail from the transparency, something I seem to be obsessed with lately. Made the image a number of years ago when living in Alaska. Used an old, beat up Pentax 6x7 which I wish I still had (especially every time Eva M. or Ian C. post an image). The image was inspired by one of my favorite images by Ansel Adams, entitled 'Leaf, Glacier Bay National Monument'. Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

Pentax 6x7, 135mm macro, Velvia. M1 scan, Tony Kuyper's masks and other techniques.

Large size image posted as well.

Thanks.

Honored to be the first to comment Vance. This has incredible detail! I can stare at it for hours and still find something for my eye to do.The colors are rich and engaging as well and beautifully composed.

Vance,

Oh My! Now I gotta say that this borders on electric and has an almost lithographic look and feel to it - BUT I don't care, this is stunning. The detail is incredible - even spectacular for a little web version. Not sure if there's anything I can add or say, except Oh My! :toast:

The fringes are a but neon, but I sure wouldn't change it. What a beautiful specimen you've framed. Gorgeous in every way.

Intense image, but it works for me. Goes beyond real . . . but not believability. Getting the balance to an image is hard sometimes but this one has it nailed.

Spectacular! On every level, this is exceptional. I have been giving some thought to one of those 6x7's myself lately!

Yep, I can recall my days in Alaska too, but much too early for Velvia back then. I love it. This truly brings out the best in colors and detail from the old trusty 6x7 and Fuji's finest film. Heck, the Microtek M1 did a fine job on the importing of the image as well.
All technical comments by me, but it really does enhance the total quality of your presentation of this fine closeup scene. A very fine capture and posted image overall, Vance.
For those still using 120 roll film V-50 can still be bought, but, sadly not the same for LF shooters. :frown:
