Hooded Merganser

From this past weekend. Ducks are here now. Hoping for a good winter spent with them. Nothing special here bird-wise, but this was very first light and I like the lighting affect a lot. Also, hooded mergansers are extremely fast flyers, faster than teal. So, I was happy to get this frame sharp.

Please view larger version for max details. Thanks so much.

Very nice light Ron, and a great flight shot with good detail. Love the waterdrops about the body. Well done and looking forward to more.

Great detail and color! I like this better without the blue band along the bottom. Thanks for sharing.

Hard enough for me to get close to hooded mergansers when they are on the pond - getting them in flight is a whole 'nother element. Beautifully done and great light

Great capture. They really move fast and this one was taken at just the right moment: catchlight, wing position. Sweet light and very sharp. Thanks for sharing.

A special shot, Ron. So difficult to get at this quality and I like the upper background colors. Very nice!

I like everything about this. Great light, detail and timing. You can see why these birds are so fast - so aerodynamic! :toast:

Wonderful flight position, kind of like a missile with the stream lined look. I like the eye contact, light and that you can even make out water droplets in the larger version. Excellent shot Ron.
