NonTypical Sneak

This is the same non typical that I posted earlier. I caught him trying to sneak up on a group of does. I like the the side lighting and the interesting antler shadows on the tree. The high ISO is due to the fact that the timber is pretty dark in most places. In this particular shot, the light was better and I could have sacrificed some shutter speed for a lower ISO. However, in the heat of the moment, the ideal settings are not always possible.

Not bad for high ISO. The OOF tree on the LHS is pretty noisy, but the rest looks acceptable. All the noise is certainly curable, as long as you stick to the worst of it. The deer and the rack look good.

I like the way you captured him emerging from the between the trees and darkness. The shadow is a nice addition.

His emerging from darkness is pretty cool. A small tweak you could make in processing is to selectively darken the twig that is in the background between the antlers. It would have been really fortunate if the shadow on the tree were unobstructed to show the entire shadow outline of antlers and head!

I have yet to see a non-typical whitetail! It must have been a treat to spot and photograph this guy!
