This is a fairly traditional Grand Canyon composition ... but still very pleasing to view. Nicely done for your first visit.

Real nice combination of warm tones in the rocks. Beautiful light.

Drew,

I love the late light and colors here, as well as the very shapely tree. Your comp works well as an overall grand view and capture of the GC. However, to me, the "Tree of Life" kinda tells me that's your main focus? But it's crammed on the left and also several branches are cut off. What I suspect, and this is true for so many GC views from the rim, you were limited with your options - other obstacles, 2,000ft drop offs, the usual. But it would be nice to see the entire tree set against the beautiful light and color of the canyon walls. I'm guessing you have other comps too?

don't get me wrong, this works very well, capturing the light, but I don't see this as an image just about the tree. Hope that makes sense.
