This is another shot from our trip up the California coast last summer, taken in Redwood NP. The late morning fog was starting to clear and created some nice light through the trees. I lived in Northern Cal. for 4 years while going to HSU and it was nice to get back up here again and spend some time hiking in the redwoods and hanging out on the beaches. HSU is also high on my daughter’s list of colleges for next year and if she does choose to go there, I’ll have a great excuse to come back more often.
Thanks and comments welcome.

Rudy, some really great light here, It makes me want to see more of it. It seems like there could be some more contrast, looks a little flat on my screen, but it's minor.

The larger image version reminds me of a scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And it's like I'm acturally there thanks to the great sharpness in the foreground of ferns, etc. Very, very dramatic; implying something about to happen, even though that may only be the sudden awareness of the moment.

Sweet capture. The image has great comp and may need a littl selective exposure adjustment to trees to bring a more contrast. :toast:

Rudy,

Always fun - and a challenge to not only be there when the conditions are right, but to capture these moments as well. And this is a good one. Personally, I might prefer a crop off the bottom. I say that because for me the image is all about the light, rays, etc. up top and the very bottom ferns draw me away from that. I like the rhodies and green vegetation, but the ferns just make it too much on the bottom - for me. Still, a wonderful image from the Redwoods,

Lon

Really like the layering of the plants and light here. Some very special conditions.
