Yet another from Bosque del Apache last month. I like the way this one conveys the feel of the place and the variety of wing positions.

1DIV, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRS legs, f13, 1/2000, iso 400, manual exposure. Normal processing in CS5, Cropped to 9.4 MP. Taken January 17th at 4:33 pm.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

You found very nice light for this landing scene Dennis. I think you've certainly captured the essence of Bosque with this image-such a cool place to photograph. :toast:

Love the lighting and the bg. Good job of getting them all in focus. :toast:

I like this image very much. Just looks warm and inviting, like these "GEESE" (oops, I've had cranes on the brain lately) really feel comfortable and at home there. I have not visited Bosque yet but it is on my list of places to get to this fall. Especially after viewing the wonderful images both you and Sandy have been posting. :toast:

Nice landing scene Dennis. It is so hard to get them coming toward you. Nice clear shot of the geese, with just enough blur to the BG not to distract from the main subject.

Sweet light an a good capture, Dennis. Your aperture was perfect for this; all of the birds good and the background blurred just enough to make the birds pop. Nice.

this really evokes the bosque scene nicely, Dennis. I like the comp and the various wing positions as well as the setting.

Lovely image with gorgeous light. I like the composition and the different wing positions of the geese. Just a thought, but did you try a crop without the brown line at the bottom? It might work too?

like the way your f13 got every one in focus and your 1/2000 froze all motion. Nice job, Dennis
