Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC. They let you buy greens to feed the giraffes there...obviously they know what's coming!

Wonderful forms, focus, and colors. They have very long tongues!!

Minor nit; if this were mine, I would use a perspective crop to straighten the posts; I can't see any purpose to their being tilted.
But that is very, very minor indeed.

I love the larger version, especially. The sharpness makes me feel as if I'm there.

Nice capture of some fun and unique action at the zoo! Looks like it's good these poles are placed fairly close together or you would have quite a bit of giraffe reaching for the food. My straightening compulsion wishes the posts were vertically straight. . .but that's probably just me. That would be a great experience to be able to feed a giraffe. . .not something I've experienced as of yet.

What was really hysterical was watching my 4 yr old trying to feed them and run away from them at the same time...scared and curious all at once! I can see about the straight lines...I'm obsessive about straight horizons...but this didn't bother me as much for some reason.

Kate, this is hilarious :jump: Glad you have both eyes on the lower giraffe, makes the position/behaviour of the top one even more impactful.

I can imagine the reaction of your 4 year old just as you described it. :toast:
