I spent a little time at Ft. Desoto last month and took advantage of the few sunny and calm days. I thought that this would be an interesting composition, but I'm wondering if there is too much going on.

I'm interested in what others think. Thoughts, comments, and critiques are appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

In my opinion it is a bit cluttered. A tighter shot with a lower angle of view with the wharf in the background may have been better. Still a good one that conveys the right message. :toast:

Jerry - I think there is potential in this type of scene - however most of the birds are preening (or napping?) which means we can't see their heads. Also, they're not aligned in any kind of formation/pattern. When wildlife/birds are in the scene, it tends to be more impactful if we can see their eyes or if there is a pattern - so in this instance, fewer birds with their heads visible and standing in a row would have probably worked better for you.

The rest of your composition, with beach, waves and wharf is working reasonably well.
