Beautiful composition in the diagonal branch and placement of the seed group and nice use of the limited DoF- the brilliance of the red reduces any chance the softness in the other three buds at the top will be distracting. I like the red-green contrast both in the seeds and in the bud that is sharp and the counterpoint between the seeds from the previous season and the new growth.

It is truly amazing how vibrant Fall colors can be! The bokeh appears to be uniform.

Realizing it was probably overcast immediately after the rain, I think you could still possibly consider a slight levels adjustment; there is quite a bit of room on the right side on the histogram.

Good eye to find this interesting macro scene, Ron. You made it into a nice comp with the angled branches and the dangling seed pods. Those pods are certainly a vivid color and I love the sprinkling of raindrops on them. They are a bit dark, however, so I think a slight lightening of the pods would be helpful. Or, as John mentioned, the whole image may be able to be brightened some.

Was down in the park Fall of 2011 and, regretfully, missed Cades Cove. Good reason to return! Never knew they were so red. I like how the twigs flow upward while the pods are dangling. Just the right amount of space around the frame. Very nice work!

Nice looks at these maple seeds in a very well composed scene. I agree that brightening the seeds or even some overall brightening would be an improvement. Of course, that hot spot near where the seeds are attached would need to be cloned out.

Nicely composed! The small white spot, which I assume is the reflection off a drop of water, is a little distracting though.

Beautiful colors and composition. Great "after the rain" look. I echo the comments about a slight brightening. Thanks for sharing,
