Another shot from Shi Shi towards Point of Arches. Trying to stay consistent with the moody long exposures and complete a small collection. This one was taken at night under a full moon. I was taken with the depth and row arrangement of these amazing sea stacks. As I am not from the West Coast or PacNW, I'm not sure how many shots there are of the row of stacks from the vantage point of Shi Shi Beach (can't recall any right now - but I do recall many from closer to these stacks), but I think it's a locale with a lot of potential -- especially at a large zoom like this.

Anyways, appreciate any thoughts as I'm still very junior at B&W conversions.

Nicely done image Navin especially the large version. Amazing it was only moon light. Nice depth and detail and I like your composition.

Navin,

This indeed is certainly an amazing collection and alignment of sea stacks/rocks. I can't say I've seen these presented here before so for sure you've captured a different and successful look from the Olympic coast. The long format is especially appropriate here.

the only question I have are the two lower corners. I'm guessing it's just the natural occurance on how the waves made their way ashore, but then again it almost comes across and too heavy handed of vignetting. Then again, it serves well in framing the scene and in the end, I think works very well. Well done!

Hi Lon - thanks for your comment. Yes - I enhanced the vignette (which I think might of been more a result of the nearly wide open exposure than the waves) to lead into the frame. Thanks for your thoughts! and I am curious for other thoughts on the vingette's effectiveness.

This a super image Navin! I like the long exposure effect on the foreground and the alignment of the stacks with the silhouetted trees. really nice. Chet

This is very nice, Navin. I like the composition and the panoramic format here is perfect. The B&W conversion looks great to me with a wide range of tones. Although there aren't any bright highlights I think this accentuates the mood.

Cool image. The Mid telephoto shot compresses the rocks to make it seem as a caravan of rocks marching across the frame. Great B&W tones.

I really like this, Navin. Very unique capture and effective B&W conversion. I probably wouldn't have known it was a moonlight exposure, but the result is very impactful. At first glance I also thought the vignetting in the bottom corners was overdone, but now seeing that the bottom left corner is formed by the shore, it makes more sense and I think it's effective. Looks like you have a great set in the works.

I very much like the mood, Navin, and how you down-framed this. I'm not too keen on the vignetting at the bottom.

I am liking the image and the perspective. I would rather see it without the vignetting. To my eye, it looks a bit off with it.

Thanks for the comments thus far. Thanks Brian for pointing out the lack of highlights -- I did punch those a little more in this version, and I kept the vignette (for now). For an even larger view please click HERE

I love everything about this image from the B&W rendition to the pano format. Very moody stuff, Navin.
