A very busy scene I know - the daisy buds and young flowers on their stalks surrounding this lone poppy just reminded me ever so slightly of an orrery !

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 108mm, 1/1250 sec @ f 4.5, -1 ev, ISO 400, hh, Color Efex gold reflector and vignette blur.

Beautiful, Ian. Well composed with the focus on the contrasting red poppy, and the dreamy look creates an evocative mood. :toast:

A wonderful image, Ian. What a focal point that red poppy makes! Then all the daisies are the chorus for this soloist. :toast:

Had to look that one up, Ian! The blur makes it very dreamy. I much prefer this type of vignette to dark/white ones. The red poppy as sun and the daisies as planets is an apt simile! :toast:

Great use of the solitary poppy, Ian. Very well composed and titled. Looks like a perfect summer image. :toast:

Hey! along with another gorgeous meadow-type scene reminiscent of Albert's recent work, I learned a new word!
This is a great capture, Ian, with lots to look at. Love the processing, too. The vignette creates a definite mood, and encouragement to focus on the poppy, without being so obvious, itself.

This just might be my favorite Ian. The separation between subject and surrounding gives me a feeling of vastness.
