UNDERWATER BASKETBALL

Yah, anudder bloody phone pic.

Don’t know what this little flower is but it’s typical of the flora that pops up spontaneously as spring approaches in Australia. I went -2EV on this, plus flash, to heighten the contrast, and light the foreground but not the objects further away. The EXIF claims I used /617sec but I find that difficult to believe.

To gain more separation between the dominant tones, and eliminate the stuff I wasn’t interested in, I used Multiply blend mode in CS5. I’m not a photographer who believes EVERY shadow detail has to be revealed. I like a little mystery and that means black. (Someone asked the other day “when the hell are you getting CS6?” My response: I don’t need more software I need good photographs). The fronds look larger than they are; in fact they were tiny.

Samsung Galaxy 2, ISO100, 1/617sec at f2.6 (yeah, yeah, yeah), 4mm focal length, according to the phone anyway, and -2EV. Processed in CS5 and I won’t be getting CS6. Ever.

Barry - Like your style and the processing. I really like the placement for the Clover and how the triangular foliage pattern is further highlighted by the light green triangle within it.
